NIYLG 2005-06 worked on projects based on areas of mutual interest to the Australian Government and NIYLG members. The projects topics were youth leadership, cultural identity, education and employment. The NIYLG 2005-06 term culminated with a final presentations ceremony at Parliament House, Canberra on 30 November 2006, where NIYLG members presented their project outcomes and recommendations to the Australian Government and invited guests.
This report outlines the NIYLG members' projects and their recommendations, as presented at Parliament House. The opinions expressed in this report are those of the members of NIYLG 2005-06.
The report has been sent to Australian and state and territory government ministers with portfolio responsibility for the issues addressed in projects, and to Australian Government Departmental Secretaries, for consideration in future policy deliberations. It has also been sent to relevant Indigenous, youth, corporate and community organisations.
