NYR - Talking Enterprise Roadshow Conference Albury/Wodonga April 2006

The Talking Enterprise team of the National Youth Roundtable 2005/2006 will be hosting a major event as part of National Youth Week 2006, which seeks to encourage and promote youth enterprise in rural and regional Australia.

The one day conference in Albury/Wodonga on Friday April 7th will be the first of a number of conferences convened by the Talking Enterprise team which are designed to bring young people and businesses in rural and regional areas together to encourage and support youth enterprise development.

The conference will be held at Lake Hume Resort in Albury. Over ten schools from both sides of the Victorian and New South Wales borders have been invited to participate as well as the Albury Wodonga Business Enterprise Centre and local Lions and Rotarian Clubs.

The aim of the conference is to encourage and empower young people to think about the possibility of staying in their rural and regional communities after finishing high school. The concept and design of the conference along with our findings will be pitched to Government departments, many of whom have already identified youth out migration as a significant issue in rural communities, at the final National Youth Roundtable meeting in June 2006.
