Michael Bayne

Michael Bayne

Michael, 17, is currently studying a double degree in Law and International Studies at the University of Adelaide. Michael identifies ‘developing strong cultural relations and increasing cultural understanding’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Merindah Donnelly

Merindah Donnelly

Merindah, 23, is currently in her 2nd year of a Bachelor of Arts/Commerce degree at the University of New South Wales and working full-time as a Manager with Bloch. Merindah grew up in Tingah. She is passionate about Indigenous and Aboriginal education awareness. Merindah identifies ‘education/HSC for Indigenous students’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.

Lluwannee George

Lluwannee, 22, is currently working as a Parliamentary Officer in the NSW Legislative Assembly. She identifies ‘youth participation and cultural identity’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Moses Gibson

Moses Gibson

Moses, 19, is currently working full-time as an Exhibitions Officer for Mangkaja Arts. He identifies ‘the impact that drug and alcohol abuse has on culture’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Michael Galluzzo

Michael Galluzzo

Michael, 20, is studying at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra for a degree in Arts/Law. Michael is the Indigenous Convener of ReconciliACTion and the Indigenous Officer of the ANU. He is involved at a local level with the Narrandera Shire Council. Michael was a member of the National Indigenous Youth Leadership Group (NIYLG) 2005-06 and is interested in the restoration and promotion of traditional language and culture.

Esi Louis

Esi, 21, is currently in her second year at the Australian Catholic University studying Theology and Social Work. She also works as a casual office assistant. She identifies ‘some migrant youth dropping out of school and not reaching their full potential or utilising all the services available to them’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Samah Hadid

Samah Hadid

Samah, 18, currently in her 2nd year of a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. Samah identifies ‘youth participation and community engagement’ particularly among Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse youth as one of the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Lauren Johnston

Lauren Johnston

Lauren, 24, is currently working as a Researcher/Analyst in Indigenous Education Reform for Cape York Partnerships. She has a number of tertiary qualifications, most notably a Master of Arts (International Communications). She identifies ‘increased youth involvement in setting and driving government agendas’ as the most important issue for the Australian government in relation to youth.
Patsy Nai

Patsy Nai

Patsy, 20, is currently in her 3rd year of a Bachelor in Medical Science at the University of New South Wales and also works part-time as a receptionist at Mercedes Benz-Airport Express. Patsy identifies ‘education at all levels’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
Jessica Thorne

Jessica Thorne

Jessica, 16, is currently in Year 11 at Shepardson College Elcho Island in North East Arnhem Land. Jessica identifies ‘not enough youth activities on Elcho Island’ as the most important issue for the Australian Government in relation to youth.
